Our Technology

  • Phase Contrast Microscope - To review a patient’s plaque and the subgingival microcosmos.
  • Nd:Yag Laser (Light-Walker Laser by Fotona) - A deep penetrating laser energy superior for coagulation, deep infection, attacking pigmented bacteria, biostimulation (promoting healing by stimulating the mitochondria, the powerhouse of cells, warming the tissues and increasing blood supply) and photobiomodulation (treating oral lesions via laser energy). Used as one step in the treatment of periodontal disease with possible regeneration with a technique called “Laser Assisted Dual Wavelength Periodontal Surgery,” Mainly used for soft tissue procedures.
  • Erbium or Er:Yag Laser(Light-Walker Laser by Fotona) - Uniquely efficient in treating hard tissues, such as bone and teeth by non-drilling cavity tooth preparations and re-contouring bone. Can detoxify biofilm layer from root surfaces and sterilize implant surfaces by destroying non-pigmented bacteria and pathogens. Used to clean and debride root canal systems. Also used for Liplase (a technique to thicken and re-sculpture lips), Smoothlase (a technique to regenerate facial collagen and potentially reduce wrinkles and smooth skin), and Nightlase (a technique to treat the soft palate by opening the airway to improve sleep apnea and snoring).
  • Diode Laser - Good for coagulation, tissue management, and disinfecting.
  • Piezoelectric Unit - A special technology that only cuts bone and protects the soft tissue. Some uses include lateral sinus elevations, bone grafts, extractions, and procuring bone blocks for grafting.
  • CAS Crestal Sinus Kit - Unique stopper system for crestal or vertical sinus elevation bone grafts and immediate implant placement.
  • 3D (CBCT) Radiographic Scanner - A highly technological instrument used in procuring 3D images to improve diagnosis and treatment.
  • Digital Radiology - Computer based resolutions of radiographs.
  • Conventional Radiology - Some images are clearer for diagnosis with traditional x-rays.
  • Traditional Dental Implants - Use of various implant systems, preferring Zimmer and Implant Direct, additionally using Nobel Biocare, BioHorizons, and Straumann dental implant companies.
  • Mini Dental Implants - These are smaller diameter implants (1.8mm to 2.9mm) from companies such as IntraLock, Imtec, and Zest, that are placed into narrower ridges with less optimal bone or placed into wider ridges. Some advantages are minimally invasive procedures, shorter healing time, less waiting time for prostheses fabrication and good for the medically compromised.
  • Conversion Abutments for Mini Implants - A dental implant invention designed by Dr. Harry and Dr. Nikol, currently submitted to the United States Patent Office, allowing cement-retained prostheses to be converted to screw-retained prostheses.
  • Intraoral Camera - Used to capture high quality intraoral images for diagnosis or for patients to view.
  • iTero Digital Impression Scanner – Takes an accurate 3D digital scan of the patient’s teeth and bite, making any adjustments in real time, and transmitting these impressions wirelessly to laboratories for fabrication of the prostheses. This digital impression system is designed to replace conventional dental impressions.
  • L-PRF (Leukocyte - Platelet Rich Fibrin) - This technique draws a patient’s own blood to obtain concentrated platelets, leucocytes, and fibrin which have unique healing abilities to promote growth, healing, and regeneration. This matrix or blood clot of growth factors is simply re-introduced into the surgical site activating the body to release powerful healing proteins.
  • Endodontic Bilateral Microscope – A tool used to visualize dental anatomy not visible with the naked eye, especially used to locate and evaluate canals in root canal treatment by magnifying the image, improving illumination, and increasing precision.
  • Rotary Endodontic Instrumentation – Nickel titanium instruments used to clean out the root canal smoothly, consistently, efficiently, and faster with less chance of complications.
  • PIPS (Photon Induced Photoacoustic Streaming) Endodontic Laser - An advanced method using ER:YAG laser energy by using the photoacoustic properties of light waves to better cleanse the root canal system.
  • Computer Technology - With E-insurance with faster response time for patient.
  • Ridge Splitting Kit - Instruments used to widen narrow ridges for bone grafting and simultaneous implant placement.
  • Sleep Apnea Monitor - A portable instrument that patients can take home overnight to evaluate for sleep apnea (the temporary cessation of breathing during sleep) and AHI index (an index used to indicate the severity of sleep apnea).
  • EMA Appliances – A simple, patient friendly oral appliance for noninvasive treatment of snoring and Obstructive Sleep Apnea.
  • RNA Appliances – Special appliances using the Epigenetic principle that changing the environment can trigger a gene’s activity. These appliances physically change the structure of the oral cavity to improve airway space by providing ample breathing room. Dr. Nikol and Dr. Harry are amongst the few dentists trained to do this technique in Illinois.
  • Invisalign – An orthodontic technique that uses virtually invisible plastic aligners to straighten teeth while improving oral health, malocclusion, and one’s appearance. These aligners are removable allowing for easy cleaning and eating.
  • Isolite - A specialized light /retraction /suction system beneficial to both the patient and doctor allowing better isolation, higher efficiency, better visibility, and better retraction with more comfort and less fatigue for patients.
  • Dental Implant Motors - Nobel BioCare, Zimmer, and Aseptico electric motors used specifically for placing dental implants and for endodontic treatment.
  • Electric Dental Handpieces - Handpieces with ratios 1:5, 1:8, 1:20 used for various procedures that cannot ordinarily be accomplished with conventional air-driven hand pieces.
  • Fiberoptic Handpieces - Handpieces providing additional lighting for improved visibility and accuracy.
  • Ultrasonic and Sterilization Units - Equipment used to ensure the utmost safety and sanitation for our patients.
  • Bone Grafting Material – Our practice uses an assortment of bone graft materials with different absorption rates to help patients regenerate bone loss.
  • Soft Tissue/Regenerative Membranes – Our practice uses an assortment of membranes to assist during bone grafting procedures to enable a patient to regenerate their own lost tissues.
  • DIAGNOdent – Laser caries detector to help aid in diagnosis of cavities.
